Well. I got my laptop back from repair, it smells like burger king wrappers (shipping label says texas, so it makes sense) And i am now installing ubuntu 7.10. it was quite hard to figure out how to partition and keep windows on there along with ubuntu, but heres a guide that explained it.

Kde4 RC1 is out. Its pretty impressive, but will need some more work, such as getting themes working and getting gtk apps working correctly, but otherwise, it seems pretty solid. Instructions to install it are at http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde4-rc1.php .

LFNW was great this year. I helped at the Ubuntu PNW team booth. We handed out the upward of 400 Ubuntu Fiesty cds. We learned some lessons, such we need to burn a lot more cds before hand. I was glad to see that the NW Mono Users had a booth there (run by CJ Collier). And I got a shirt from Mysql. Some pictures i took are here

well, its been a while since i posted here. So ill catch you readers up on current events. Im going to Linux fest this year in April, and takeing pictures for the Ubuntu PNW team booth. so that’ll be fun i guess.
well its been a while since i posted. anyway the last two days have been snow days (wahoo). I started trying Ruby on Rails, i like it better than php.
I have been in contact with CJ Collier, whom i met a LInux Fest last year. He showed me how to use POE. So now I can have power iver ethernet. On other news Dapper works great on the dual processor computer. (wahoo)
Lvm is complete junk, im now using RAID0, it actually partitions correctly. I also tried Edgy Alternate install on the dual proc, and something is wrong with the edgy drivers for the Matrox 550. So im currently installing dapper, hopefully it will work. I cant wait for the next LTS.
Currently waiting for installation of Ubuntu on the dual proc, so i took some time to look at he Power over Ethernet injector/receiver i have been working on. I still need to go to radioshack to get those DC power plug/socket. (yes i do hate radioshack because the people working there don’t know very much about electronics, but where else are you going to get a coax power adapter?)
